Chepstow Contract Rentals are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, they are South Wales and West Country based suppliers both nationally and internationally of new and used construction machinery providing cost-effective solutions for clients around the world and this year are sponsoring the feature race on day one of the Jump Season Opener at Chepstow Racecourse, the Silver Trophy.
The race, worth £50,000 in prize money, takes place on Saturday 13th October.
Martyn Durran, Managing Director of the group wanted to mark the 10 year anniversary of the business by doing something different and memorable, by enjoying a days hospitality at the races and naming the feature race The Chepstow Contract Rentals 10th Year Anniversary, he has certainly done just that.
Martyn said: “It’s amazing what some experience, mixed with help from friends and family, a fantastic team, great suppliers and some really brilliant and loyal customers can do for a business. Starting in October 2008 from nothing our businesses are now turning over nearly £15 million per year.
We don’t do anything particularly clever, we don’t design spacecraft, we are not doctors or nurses saving lives, what we do is sell used and new construction equipment and rent a little of it out to a few long-standing customers around the UK.
What we do have is a genuine regard for our customers, suppliers and staff. We believe everyone is entitled to make some money, have some good service and get value for money. We don’t cut corners, we don’t hide from problems, our people work very hard to do an excellent job for customers and we think it’s appreciated and it seems to work.
Our profit margins are not dazzling, but we make enough to pay the wages and some extra to invest in our businesses.
We are extremely proud of what our team have achieved over the last 10 years and we are pleased to be able to keep doing what we do for our customers who, after all we owe our success to”
Caroline Williams, General Manager of Chepstow Racecourse said:” We are thrilled to be helping Chepstow Contract Rentals mark this special occasion and for their support.”
There are seven races on Day one of the Jump Season Opener as well as the ‘Legends’ race in aid of the Bob Champion Cancer Trust which will see retired jockeys back in the saddle for the day, racing starts from 1:25pm on Saturday 13th October.
