Coral Welsh Grand National

Wed 27 Dec

This Christmas, are you looking for a day away with the family or a great day out with friends?

Well, join us for our biggest race meeting of the year, the Coral Welsh Grand National, one of the most prestigious jump fixtures in the UK and the richest race in Wales.

In true patriotic style, we’ll have the Bridgend Male Choir performing in the Parade Ring and Welsh opera singers Shan Cothi & Rebecca Evans singing the national anthem as the runners circle for the big race.

The fabulous Wild Murphys will be playing live all afternoon in our Bonanza Boy Marquee and there will be plenty of free street entertainers to keep the kids amused throughout the day.

If you are big racing fan, you’ll see some of stars of the sport on show, the 2016 Coral Welsh Grand National winner Native River went on to finish third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The big race, worth £150,000 in prize money, is off 2.50pm. The gates open at 10am and the first race is off at 12.35pm.

The card also includes the £50,000 Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle, won last year by Defi du Seuil who went on to take the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

There will be seven races on the card. After racing, we’ll have a DJ playing festive music for an hour so you can have a drink and let the traffic clear before heading home.

As a bonus, all customers who book a ticket in advance will receive a voucher for free admission to our jump meeting on Friday 27th April (Dunraven Bowl Race Night).

The meeting will support Welsh charities Ty Hapus and Amser Justin Time.

Admission tickets starts from £27pp in advance and hospitality packages start from £85pp including VAT subject to availability
