On Thursday 21st June, The Noah’s Ark Charity held its Annual Royal Ascot Charity Day at Chepstow Racecourse, raising an incredible £67,710 in just one afternoon. The charity, which celebrates its 18th birthday this year, raises funds for state of the art medical equipment, facilities and family support services that help ensure the best treatment and outcome possible for the 73,000 children treated at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales each year.

The fabulous three-course lunch and afternoon tea was enjoyed by over 300 guests at Chepstow Racecourse and allowed plenty of opportunity to raise money for the charity from the gold cup raffle to the popular auction which included a brand new car! All while guests enjoyed the racing from Royal Ascot live on the big screens.

Vice Chair of the charity, Julie Hayward, who along with her family organises and hosts the event each year, said:

“Whether it’s a DVD system which distracts a child from an uncomfortable procedure or a ventilator that keeps a premature baby alive, our supporters help make a real difference to the lives of children and their families.

“We’ve been astounded once again this year by the generosity of our guests. £67,710 is an amazing sum of money which will be used to benefit thousands of children for years to come.”

Charlotte Caple, Sales Manager at Chepstow Racecourse and attendee of the lunch said “It was a privilege to yet again host the Royal Ascot Charity Day for The Noah’s Ark Charity.  It’s an honour to be associated with such a life-changing charity”
