Relaxed Atmosphere

We want every guest who comes through the gates at Chepstow Racecourse to have a fantastic time with us, to help achieve this we have an Alcohol & Behaviour Policy which we expect our customers to adhere to. You can read the policy by clicking here
The racecourse has a relaxed dress code in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure and fancy dress is welcomed when appropriate.
For our Premier Enclosure & Hospitality, we operate a smart-casual dress code.
We expect all our visitors to behave in a friendly and socially acceptable manner so everyone has an enjoyable experience.

Premier Enclosure

Chepstow racecourse operates a strict smart-casual dress code in the Premier Enclosure for certain fixtures. We find that racegoers on these days like to make it a special occasion and choose to dress accordingly. Please be aware that trainers, fancy dress, sportswear and swimwear are not accepted as appropriate dress. 

  • Strictly smart shoes only (formal dress shoes)
  • No trainers, canvas shoes, sandals or flip-flops
  • No sportswear including football or rugby shirts

The above dress code does not apply to children under the age of 10.

Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure

In the Grandstand & Paddock enclosure, the dress code is more relaxed. tailored shorts and T-Shirts are worn by racegoers enjoying the sun.
More relaxed footwear, including smart trainers and canvas shoes are fine within this enclosure.

Fancy Dress

Non-offensive fancy dress is allowed at Chepstow Racecourse within the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. However, fancy dress is not permitted within the Premier Enclosure or Hospitality at any time.


For the enjoyment of all, we expect all our visitors in both our enclosures to behave in a friendly and socially acceptable manner towards each other.
