Welcome

A warm welcome to Chepstow Racecourse – the home of Welsh racing

Chepstow Racecourse has it all – beautiful countryside, a friendly, charming atmosphere and an impressive racing pedigree.

Superbly located between Bristol and Cardiff and close to the M4, M48 and M5 with excellent links to many parts of the UK, the picturesque Wye Valley provides a striking backdrop to 440 acres of historic parkland.

During 2013, Chepstow will hold a mixture of 30 National Hunt and Flat race meetings.  With a variety of weekday, weekend and evening fixtures throughout the year, there is something for everyone.

A day at the races is as casual or as formal as you want to make it. For some it’s a get together with friends, for others it’s an excuse to dress up, especially on Ladies Night when many ladies get dressed up and wear hats – not obligatory, but great fun!  Families are always welcome with accompanied children under 18 entering for free and free entertainment on certain days.

We look forward to welcoming you to Chepstow Racecourse in 2013 and please be assured we will do everything we can to make your day special.

Chepstow is a left handed, oval shaped undulating course of two miles in circumference.

The course is galloping in nature and proves itself to be a real test of stamina, especially throughout the winter months. Both Jumps and Flat races are staged at Chepstow on separate adjacent tracks, with the Jumps Course on the inside of the Flat Course. There is a Straight Mile which joins the main track at approximately the 5 furlong marker in the Home Straight. All Flat races up to 1 mile in distance are run over the Straight Mile.

DRAW

There is no strong evidence of a regular draw advantage at Chepstow on the Flat.
