We want to ensure your day at Chepstow Racecourse is a good one and that every aspect meets your expectations. This section can assist you with everything from deciding which race meeting you wish to attend, selecting an admission package most suitable to you or what you should wear on the day! - Which Enclosure should I choose?
- Chepstow Racecourse has two enclosures on a raceday – the Premier Enclosure and the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. A Premier Badge gives you access to all public areas of the racecourse including the Premier Lawn, adjacent to the Winners’ Enclosure and Parade Ring directly opposite the Winning Post, putting you right by the action. In addition, there is our brand new Premier Stand, which includes a bar serving hot and cold snack, and the new 300-seat viewing Premier Restaurant.
The Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure allows viewing of the Parade Ring and racetrack from a main grandstand. The Grandstand & Paddock Bar serves hot meals and beverages. This enclosure also has a variety of mobile catering units. - How do I book tickets?
- Badges and admission packages can be pre-booked either on-line or by calling the Racecourse Office on 01291 622260. Although it is not compulsory to book in advance, we do recommend it.
- What are the advantages of booking an all-inclusive package?
- All-inclusive packages are great value for money and ideal for the novice racegoer who wants all elements of their day at the races included in one easy step. Our Classic Raceday package includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Racecourse, as well as entry to the Premier Enclosure, a £5 Tote betting voucher, welcome drink, racecard and afternoon tea and scones. Our Fancy-A-Flutter package includes entry to the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, welcome drink, burger and chips meal, racecard and £2 Tote discount voucher.
- What discounts do you offer to groups?
- Horseracing is the perfect event to enjoy with customers, family or friends, and a £2 off per badge discount is offered to parties of 15 or more when the booking is made seven days in advance of the race meeting.
Coach drivers are admitted free of charge on production of valid ID. - Is Chepstow Racecourse suitable for children and families?
- All children 16 and under and admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult. On selected days, we provide free children’s entertainment to appeal to all ages. Please contact the Racecourse Office on 01291 622260 for further information about these days.
We also provide parent and baby changing facilities in the Premier Enclosure. - Are there facilities for people with disabilities?
- Chepstow Racecourse aims to provide an accessible environment for all racegoers. We provide disabled parking spaces and easy access to both enclosures. Disabled toilets are available in both the Premier and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosures. There is lift access in the Premier Stand for hospitality clients.
- Is there a dress code?
- Please note that racegoers wearing vests, football or rugby shirts, ripped jeans, shorts or trainers will not be admitted to the Premier Enclosure. Patrons in all enclosures are reminded that the removal of shirts is not allowed. Please note that jeans/trainers are NOT allowed in our hospitality boxes or restaurant.
- Can I bring my dog to the Racecourse?
- Only Guide Dogs for the Blind are permitted within the Racecourse Enclosures.
- Can I bring a picnic?
- Picnics are allowed in both the Grandstand & Paddock and Premier Enclosure but only on our Family Days. Please note that no alcoholic beverages are permitted on course.
- Do I have to pay for parking?
- No, all car parking is free of charge.
- Can I bring a coach?
- Coach parties are always welcome to Chepstow Racecourse and Coach drivers receive a free Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure badge (upgrade to Premier Enclosure for £5) on production of valid ID and completion of a Coach Security Form (available from Coach parking stewards on the day).
- Can I transfer between enclosures?
- You can upgrade your Grandstand & Paddock ticket to gain access to the Premier Enclosure for £5 on the day of racing at the Premier Enclosure entrance. Please note the dress code in the Premier Enclosure.
- Where can I get food and drink?
- Both enclosures have a wide range of catering facilities and bars offering a variety of hot and cold food including burgers, fish and chips, hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks, cakes and beverages.
Within the Premier Enclosure the Premier Restaurant serves a superb three-course meal. Prices start from £60 inc VAT per person and include Premier Enclosure admission, lunch, waitress bar service, Tote courier service and reserved table for the race meeting. - Is there a cash machine at the Racecourse?
- There is a link cash machine located in the Premier Enclosure entrance. Please note there is a transaction fee when you use this cash machine.
- Is there seating available?
- Limited seating is available in both enclosures and in all bar areas.
- Where can I obtain more information on Racedays?
- The race programme is a useful tool to guide you through your day at the races, with details about each race and other helpful information. Programmes are sold at the Racecourse Entrances.
General Information Leaflets and package information are displayed around the course and also available from the racecourse office.

- Chepstow Racecourse is easily accessible by road, rail or air.
- How much does if cost?

- How do I become an annual badge holder?
- Annual badges are available for £290 at full price, to run from January to December. The badge entitles you to admission to every meeting at Chepstow, as well as over 29 other events around the country. You get a car parking pass and access to a dedicated Annual Badge Holder Bar.
- When does your season start/finish?
- Chepstow Racecourse doesn't have a season as such as we race all year round, spanning both the Flat and Jumps Seasons.
- Can I order a brochure?
- Yes - please contact us and we'll be happy to provide you with further information.
- What happens when you're not racing
- With 29 meetings during 2008 we're one of the busiest turf tracks in the UK but when we're not racing we're still busy!
We regularly hold conferences, seminars, exhibition, public events, weddings, concerts and dinners. - Where should we stay?

- How do I bet?

- In the unfortunate event of an abandoned race meeting being abandoned before the first race a full refund will be given on return of your race tickets. Alternatively you may request a transfer to a forthcoming meeting, for which new tickets will be issued.
If the meeting is abandoned before the third race a 50% refund will be made.
If we abandon after the third race no refund is payable. - Do you offer concessions?
- Yes, concessions are offered to OAP's, 16-18's, students and registered disabled on production of valid ID.

- Gates usually open two hours prior to the first race to give you time to get your bearings, read the racecard, have a drink and relax before the excitement start.
- Can I take photographs?
- Racegoers are permitted to take photographs for their own personal use in public areas of the racecourse but are not permitted to use them for commercial purposes without prior permission form the racecourse office, and provision of press accreditation.
- When is the Coral Welsh National?
- Saturday 27th December 2008.
